Kinya Kokubo

Completed the doctoral program at the Graduate School of Economics, Hokkaido University, and the Graduate School of Business Sciences, University of Tsukuba.
Dr. Kokubo previously served as a Principal at Nomura Research Institute, where he was involved in healthcare strategy development and supported health economics research. He is currently a Professor in the Department of International Politics and Economics at Nishogakusha University. In addition, he serves as an advisor to several listed companies, including TOPPAN Holdings, as well as to the Kochi Prefectural Government.
Tatsuhiro Uenishi

Master’s Degree (Science)
Completed the master’s program at the Graduate School of Science, the University of Tokyo.
He was engaged in data management and statistical analysis for clinical trials and clinical research at a domestic contract research organization (CRO). At Medilead, Inc., he expanded his scope to broader data science work, including real-world data analysis and cost-effectiveness evaluations. He has contributed to organizational growth not only as a data scientist, but also as a manager in various companies.
Katsuhiko Iwasaki

Completed the doctoral program at the Graduate School of Bioscience and Biotechnology, Tokyo Institute of Technology.
He was engaged in real-world evidence generation and healthcare marketing research projects at Medilead, Inc., and Macromill CareNet, Inc., with expertise in both medical database analysis and survey-based research, including survey design and statistical evaluation.
Kazuaki Yamamoto
Data Scientist
Master’s Degree (Health Sciences)
Completed the master’s program in Department of Health Sciences , Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Kyushu University.
He worked in the ClinicaL Laboratory, Tokyo Medical and Dental University Hospital, where he managed clinical test information databases and performed clinical test data analysis. His research focused on applying deep learning–based image recognition and object detection to microscopic images. He received the Paper Award at the 28th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Association of Medical Technologists (2021) and the Outstanding Presentation Award at the 54th Annual Meeting (2022). He joined HCC in 2023.
Fumika Matsushita
Data Scientist
Master’s Degree (Applied Data Science, Public Health)
Completed the master’s program in Applied Data Science at the Graduate School of Syracuse University, and earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from San Francisco State University.
Prior to joining HCC in 2025, she built her entire career in the United States as a research data analyst. At the University of California, San Francisco, she contributed to peer-reviewed publications and provided statistical support for clinical research. She later served as a data scientist at Quest Diagnostics, where she analyzed clinical laboratory data across the U.S. In addition, she taught biostatistics as an adjunct faculty member at both the University of San Francisco and San Francisco State University.
Kohei Aizawa

Master’s Degree (Medical Engineering)
Completed the master's program in Biomedical Engineering, Department of Medical Science, Graduate School of Medicine, Saitama Medical University.
He began his career in clinical engineering at Jichi Medical University Hospital and Saitama Medical University Hospital, where he conducted research on fluid visualization to enhance the efficiency of dialysis treatment. He was later appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Engineering, Faculty of Health and Medical Care, at Saitama Medical University. There, he led research on the medical application of polarized light and on improving operability and safety in cardiopulmonary bypass procedures. He joined HCC in 2025.
Kazunori Osawa

Completed the master’s program in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Tokyo University of Pharmacy and Life Sciences.
Beginning in 1984, he held various roles at Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., including Cardiovascular Product Manager, roles in international marketing, and Marketing Director at the company's U.K. subsidiary. He also served as head of the rheumatoid arthritis field. From 2015, he worked at Takeda Pharmaceutical Company, Ltd., where he was involved in new product strategy planning, portfolio management, vaccine marketing, and projects aimed at improving care access for ADHD.
